The Ministry of Industry (Kemperin) is in the effort to increase the number of industrial estates in Indonesia by aiming to develop approximately 156 industrial estates in Indonesia with approximately 65,000 hectares of land areas. As of June 2020, there were 118 industrial estates with approximately 51,861 hectares of land areas, comprising 81 industrial estates in Java, 36 industrial estates in Sumatra, eight industrial estates in Kalimantan and three industrial estates in Sulawesi. Currently, there are 38 industrial estates under construction with approximately 14,748 hectares of land areas.
