Non-Performing Loans to Grow This Year as Economy Struggles

Indonesia’s Nonperforming Loan ratio (NPL) is expected to increase until end of this year as the economy hit hard from the pandemic. The Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK) data showed the NPL ratio rising to 3.1% in June, higher than 3.01% recorded in May. The Non-Performing Financing (NPF) ratio for businesses increased to 5.12% in June from 4.41% in May despite OJK’s relaxation of the loan repayment terms.
