The Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) in Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta will be fully operational on 29 March 2020 following the transfer of all flights from Adisutjipto Airport Yogyakarta to YIA. As one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) from the government, YIA is aimed to solve the problem with a lack of capacity in Adisutjipto Airport and to lessen the outbreak of Covid-19. The 29,000-square meter airport is estimated to accommodate 20 million passengers annually.
