The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) recorded a trade surplus in April 2021 to reach US$2.19 billion, fueling hopes a recovery underway. The surplus arose from exports of US$18.48 billion or increasing by 0.69% from the previous month and imports of US$16.29 billion or declining by 2.69% from March. The surplus was in line with the growing Indonesia Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) in April 2021 to 54.6 from 53.2 in March 2021.
