BI Keeps Interest Rate Unchanged to Stabilize Rupiah

Bank Indonesia (BI) has kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged, at 6%, stressing its priority is to stabilize the rupiah amid a strengthening United States dollar following Donald Trump's reelection and heightened geopolitical risks. BI stated it would support economic growth by implementing a loose macroprudential policy aimed at stimulating bank loans, particularly for priority sectors such as micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and the green economy.
