The Construction of East-West Line MRT Project to Start in 2026

The East–West Line Phase 1 Stage 1 of the Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project, spanning 24.5 kilometers from Tomang, West Jakarta, to Medan Satria, Bekasi, is targeted to start the construction in 2026. This project will be funded through the co-financing funding scheme between the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Asian Development Bank (ADB). The initial study of the project, which will take two years, was started after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) and PT Deltasari Adipratama.
