Tax Revenue in the First Quarter Grows by 20.7%

Tax revenue in the first quarter of 2026 grew by 20.7% yoy to Rp394.8 trillion, driven by the strengthening of Value Added Tax and Luxury Goods Tax (by 57.7%) and the growth in 21/Individual Income Tax which reflected the recovery in household consumptions and solid domestic economic activities in the early year. However, this increase was temporary as it was not driven by the growth in tax bases, compliance, or sustainable solid economic activities.
