The Jakarta administration is constructing two retention ponds and one reservoir under the JackTirta Project to help reduce flood risks in South and East Jakarta. The facilities are targeted to begin operations in February 2027 and are expected to significantly improve water management despite not fully eliminating flooding. Authorities are also exploring the use of stored water for public needs through collaboration with PAM Jaya. Further details regarding the reservoir’s capacity, budget, and exact location have yet to be disclosed.
