Indonesia's Economy in 3Q/2020 Signals Recession

The Coordinating Minister of Economy Airlangga Hartarto estimates Indonesia’s economy to grow minus 3.4% in the second quarter of 2020 and minus 1% in the third quarter. In the first quarter of 2020, the national economy was recorded at 2.97%. Despite the signal of recession in the third quarter of 2020, as a whole, the national economy is estimated to be at 0% in 2020 with the estimation of 1.4% growth in the fourth quarter and at 5% range in 2021, better than Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines and Singapore.
