Tuesday, 1 September 2026

The Bali Provincial Government, Badung Regency, and PT KAI have officially partnered to develop a 13.1 km battery-powered electric tram from Ngurah Rai Airport to Canggu to ease South Bali's traffic congestion. Divided into two stages—Phase 1A (Airport–Legian, 6.6 km) operating in Q4 2028 and Phase 1B (Legian–Canggu, 6.5 km) operating in Q1 2031—the tram is expected to carry up to 60,000 passengers daily, with its feasibility study targeted for completion by March 2027.
